We are an all volunteer, member based, non-profit organization of rental property owners and managers, who care about sensible, legal and profitable landlording methods.


The Portland Area Rental Owners Association is dedicated to helping our members become better property managers through our educational seminars and by providing up-to-date legal forms written specifically to conform to Oregon Law.


Through our monthly meetings, newsletter, Landlord Help Line, and educational seminars; our members share problems, solutions, and ideas with other landlords to ultimately help all of us become better and more profitable landlords.


Our educational seminars are available to members and all real estate licensees for continuing education credits. In addition to educating our members on the current laws in Oregon we are lobbying on the state and local levels to help protect our members’ best interest when new laws are written.


Our mission is to provide our members with the tools to support their commitment to professionalism in the management of their properties and businesses. Even though it may take a little more work and cost slightly more upfront, our belief is that “doing things right” increases profitability in the long run and minimizes the headaches and potentially significant expense associated with problem tenants. We are committed to providing our members with the resources and information necessary to achieve this goal.

Eligibility

To be eligible for Portland Area Rental Owners Association membership, you must:

  • own at least 1 income property in the Metro Portland Area, or
  • be employed as an on-site manager of a rental complex, or
  • be a licensed real estate broker managing property for others, or
  • be a licensed property manager
